Butcher Paper Dinner: Pies 'N Thighs presents COLD FRIED CHICKEN!
When Erika Geldzahler Williams, Carolyn Bane Ross-Leutwyler and Sarah Buck opened Pies 'n Thighs in 2006, it was a tiny, six-stool operation crammed into the back of a hole-in-the-wall bar. Now, the team operates one of the most popular restaurants in Williamsburg and are slated to open an outpost in Manhattan later this year. Anyone who's eaten there won't be surprised by the success of these strong, talented women: their food is downright incredible.
Known for their Southern-style Fried Chicken and fresh-baked pies, P&T isn't some grease-trap. The seasonal vegetable sides, thoughtful twists on traditional recipes, and balanced, bright flavors prove just how much Erika, Carolyn and Sarah care about the food they serve and the community to whom they serve it. We have long been fans of this team, and we cannot wait to host their incredible talents on the farm for a gorgeous summer picnic feast!
Guests at our dinner won't have to wait for a table like they might at the restaurant; rather, we invite you up early to walk the farm, enjoy a cold, crisp beer and listen to the sweet, sweet tunes spun by celebrated DJ and saxophonist Neal Sugarman, co-owner of funk/soul label Daptone Records and resident of neighboring Sunnyside.
Folks better be ready to get dirty, and to have some fun. This is not a stuffy supper club; this is a Butcher Paper Dinner!

ABOUT BUTCHER PAPER DINNERS: This series of fun, inventive dinner parties to be held spring through fall at Brooklyn Grange's flagship rooftop will center around the farm's massive, reclaimed white oak communal table down the length of which organizers will roll butcher paper. A rotating lineup of the city's most innovative chefs will bring their unique culinary stylings to play with the farm's fresh, seasonal produce, serving family-style meals directly atop the paper-lined table. This style of hands-on dining allows guests to really engage with their food, and their neighboring diners around them. Participating chefs will hail from all over the New York City area but will draw their inspiration from the eclectic diversity and bold flavors of Queens' signature culinary culture.
