Berkeley High School African American Studies Department Presents "Culture is Strength II
BHS African American Studies Department will present an exciting evening of dance, music, song, language, spoken word, with African dance, Native Indian dance, modern dance, Tahitian dance, Caribbean dance, hip hop, Haitian dance and many other genre performed by youth from diverse backgrounds. The participants will include the classes of Mama Naomi Washington-Diouf, Ms. Linda Carr, Ms. Betti and Cuatli Mitotiana Mexica Aztec Dancers, special guests: Mahea Uchiyama, Dr. Esailama Henry, Ms. Tanzia. If you want to feel young and energized, this is the concert for you to attend because the young artists will give you a burst of their fire and make you smile. Many of the dances are traditional dances put on stage.
