Before Nanook: The Frozen Zone in Early Silent Film
Join us at The Velaslavasay Panorama in welcoming the return of Dr. Russell A. Potter and the unveiling of the much-anticipated new exhibition Nova Tuskhut.
Dr. Potter will present an illustrated lecture featuring scenes from never-before seen clips and stills from early silent cinema. The talk will span topics related to the polar zones and include investigations into the Hollywood star Nancy Columbia and the Eskimo Village at the Ocean Park Pier in Santa Monica, 1915.
The evening also marks the grand premiere of the Nova Tuskhut, an Arctic Trading Post for all of your polar needs!
