An Evening with Ron Hipp and Carol Statella ~Out of the Rain ~
East Cobb United Methodist Church is pleased to invite you to join us at our Spring Community Coffee House family-friendly concert. Child care is available by reservation and coffee and dessert will be served!
The concert features Ron Hipp and Carol Statella,
also known as ~Out of the Rain~, an Atlanta-based acoustic folk duo noted for innovative arrangements and unusual expressive power.
Ron is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist that has been part of the Atlanta scene for many years. His rich baritone voice, consummate finger-picking, and mesmerizing songs make his shows a memorable experience. Ron has graced many a recording project by other artists over the years as a studio musician.
Carol is a singer and string player. She has played in backup bands for Joni Mitchell, The Moody Blues, and Brian Wilson. She has also worked as a music journalist and in public radio. In the classical performance realm, Carol has played in the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, and she has sung for seventeen seasons with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus and Chamber Chorus.
Onstage, Ron and Carol draw audiences in with artful musicality, occasionally inane humor, and absolute focus on inviting the listener into the depths of a song.
