Celebrating Diversity - Women Making History
Join us for a panel interview and discussion with three of Sacramento's most successful women executives who are each President/CEO of Sacramento's three largest minority chambers: Azizza Davis Goines,President/CEO of the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce; Pat Fong Kushida, President/CEO of the Sacramento Asian Chamber of Commerce; and Alice Perez, President/CEO of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The panel will be moderated by our Branch President, Dee Brookshire.
There will be a boxed dinner included with the attendance fee.
Biographies:
Azizza Davis Goines is the President/CEO of the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce and has over 25 years' experience in Association Management. Her experience includes managing and directing departments in fund development, program development and implementation, community relations, event planning, board development, public policy and advocacy, and strategic planning. Her success has allowed her to head non-profit agencies in the capacities of Executive Director and President/CEO. Since accepting the position of President/CEO of the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce, her personal mission continues to involve reducing disparities and facilitating access to comprehensive, culturally sensitive lifestyles for all people. She has demonstrated proficiency in providing community outreach through facilitation, collaboration and training.
Pat Fong Kushida is currently the President/CEO of the Sacramento Asian-Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SACC) organized in 1993, and President/CEO of the California Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce formed in 2006. Through her efforts, relationships have been developed to link one of the most prominent API business organizations to opportunities throughout the region and the state and provide advocacy and outreach to a significant portion of this state's demographics, the over 400,000 Asian Pacific owned businesses in California. Pat firmly believes in giving back to her community and serves on numerous boards and commissions and was most recently a governor appointee to the California Student Aid Commission. Pat was honored by this region in 2009 and received the Exemplary Leadership Award from the American Leadership Forum, Mountain Valley Chapter.
Alice Perez is currently the President / CEO of the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The chamber provides a number of business development programs that encourage the creation, expansion and growth of small business and emerging businesses, including women and minority-owned businesses throughout Sacramento County and the 6-county region. The Chambers goal is to impact economic development, workforce development, jobs creation, financial literacy and general business acumen. In 2011 she founded Alice Perez Consulting, focused on Business and Community Engagement Strategies. She has served clients focused on increasing small business exporting in California and also engaging elected officials in Education Reform strategies throughout the United States. Alice previously served as the Manager of Customer Strategy at Sacramento Municipal Utility District and was Vice President and Director of U.S. Bank's national Multicultural Banking initiatives. Ms. Perez was recently recognized by Sacramento Business Journal with the Women Who Mean Business Award and by the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce as the 2013 Chamber Executive of the Year.
