ALMOST HOME: TAIWAN is a feature documentary that reveals the untold story of Taiwan's struggle for democracy through a family road-trip back home. In the documentary, filmmaker Victoria Linchong returns to Taiwan with her family, searching for long-lost connections and becoming re-acquainted with the unique culture of the island and its wild beauty. Bridging the deeply personal and globally political, Almost Home: Taiwan clarifies the controversies surrounding Taiwan, while introducing viewers to raucous night markets, aboriginal festivals, sacred trees and kissing fish.
This is a sneak preview of the fine cut of the film. Very limited seats! There will also be drinks and discussion at the LES gallery space on the ground floor, where several posters promoting democracy in Taiwan by renowned political artists will be on display.
