Band Boosters for Creative Arts Annual Fundraiser Jazz Brunch
The Band Booster for the Creative Arts is a parent group that helps support the Creative Arts Band of Camden, NJ. The parent group supports the band program in any mannered needed including raising fund for the different events the band travels to throughout the year. The group is open to anyone who is willing to help support the music in Camden, NJ. Our mission is to provide support to the band programs at the Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy in Camden, NJ. Supporting the Band Since 2006.
This years Brunch will feature Philadelphia Jazz Legend Tenor Saxophonist Robert "Bootsie" Barnes.
Saxophonist Robert "Bootsie" Barnes has been proclaimed a Philadelphia treasure. His celebrity should rank along with TastyKakes and Philly Cheese Steaks.
"Bootsie" began his musical career at age 6 on piano and switched to drums at 10. His grandmother gave him a saxophone at age 16 and he never looked back. In school, classmates included drummers Lex Humphries, Bill Cosby, Al "Tootie" Heath; bassist "Spanky" DeBreast; trumpeter Lee Morgan, and a host of Philadelphia giants who went on to help shape the maturing face of Jazz music.
