Speed Dating night

Unfortunately there has not been sufficient interest in this event so we are cancelling the evening. If you have ideas on how we could run a similar event but in another way which would be more popular for local people do let Philippa Beagley know (you can contact her via the info@hillstation.org.uk e-mail address) A full refund for those who purchased a ticket is available and we are so sorry that we have not been able to run this event.
Many people have requested an opportunity for single people to meet others in a similar situation so we are putting on a fun informal get together on Saturday 1st March 2014.
Tickets are just £5.00 which includes your first drink from the licensed bar. There'll be a film in the background (Love Actually -what else !!) and some light-hearted activities to help start the conversations and meet new people of the opposite sex.
What will happen at the Hill Station Speed dating night?
At 8 oclock participants will register, pick up a numbered badge and get a drink at the bar From 8.30 women will be seated at numbered tables and the men will move from table to table. Pairs will have 5 - 8 minutes to introduce themselves and find out about each other [timing depends on the number of people taking part] At the end of the evening there will be time for general networking and chatting. We will have a film running in the background and some light hearted activities available to aid conversations if necessary. If you wish to bring business cards or contact cards to exchange with people you meet please do so. If there is not an even match of each gender there will be opportunities to chat at the bar and watch the film while waiting.
Please note that we do not vet participants before the event and cannot guarantee behaviour during future meetings.
