APPETITE
Conceived and directed by award-winning director Sarah Sanford (a member of leading U.S. physical theatre company Pig Iron), APPETITE brings together dance and theatre to reveal the cycles of life, love, and mass food production that converge at the dinner table.
A haunting, virtuosic, and often painfully funny work, APPETITE excavates the intimate battles we wage with our desires for food and sex. What do we want? Are we prepared to kill or be killed to get it? How much CAN we eat?
The result is an absurd and touching portrayal of loneliness and our growing detachment from the food we eat and the love we seek.
"A gloriously physical and clown-inspired show that makes you hunger for more works like it." - NOW Magazine, Toronto
Produced by Volcano USA and the Exchange Rate Collective, APPETITE stars Claire Calnan, Adam Lazarus & Linnea Swan. Associate director: Kate Alton. With set/costumes by Gillian Gallow, lights by Rebecca Picherack & sound by Robert Perrault.
