UNED!TED Heartbreak Cabaret NICU Fundraiser
UNED!TED and WOOLFE Street Playhouse Present Heartbreak Cabaret Share a laugh and Shed a tear as we sing about this Crazy little thing called Love and raise money for the MUSC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit *. Join singers Mary Fishburne, Robert Culpreth and Laura Ball with pianist Manny Houston at the Woolfe Street Playhouse for an evening of musical antics and intrigue as we salute the most romantic and annoying night of the year Valentine's Day! Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Medical University of South Carolina's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Robert Culpreth, one of our performers and a leading man in the artistic community here in Charleston, has a unique tie to this fundraiser. He and his wife, also an actor in our community, have had their first-born child, Judah, born in December weighing less than two pounds, and Judah is currently receiving top-of-the-line care at MUSC's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. While proceeds from ticket sales will benefit MUSC's Pediatric ICU (PICU, NICU), there will be an opportunity to also donate towards helping this wonderful family down the path to Judah's continued recovery. We in the artistic community all have rallied around this family, sending our prayers, preparing meals, and now rehearsing for what will be a dynamite show!!! The songs and the inspiration behind this Cabaret celebrate what this day is all about: love. *The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is dedicated to excellence in the care of high-risk newborns and their families. The compassionate treatment provided is a model of effective integration of evidence-based, interdisciplinary and family-centered approaches.
