Roommate (aka Justin McCauley)s musical career that can only be described as prolific and ever- changing. Over a decade of solid DJ'ing and countless original productions have brought him to the forefront of the worldwide bass music community. Beginning his musical quest with guitar lessons at the age of 11, Roommate has since developed his craft by integrating organic and electronic sounds into his productions. His first self-released solo album Dubfunk Vol. 1 (2003) put him on the musical map. When dubstep first hit the U.S., Roommate was quick to find a love and understanding for the music. Joining forces with L.A.-based artist and long time friend No Thing, he formed Babylon System which contributed many of the early U.S. dubstep releases, including gems like "50 Blocks Away"," Examination of Time", and "Loaded." Years of global touring followed with undying passion and intensity at every show. Co-founding the rip roaring label Hollow Point Recordings with friend and artist SPL was another huge step for Roommate. He gained confidence from consistent releases and great sales and used Hollow Point to push the boundaries of sound and express his musical tastes. He also collaborated with other artists, forming OSC with Antiserum, and Krttyr with E Pill. King Dubbist and Avocaudio are Roommate's latest forward-thinking incarnations. Focusing on huge vibes and stellar production, these labels span from dubstep to trip-hop and reggae, and encompass Roommate's broad and compelling love for musical freshness. Roommate's live sets never disappoint, always reflecting both his production prowess and skills as a DJ. Having recently moved to Los Angeles, he returns with a Bay Area-exclusive show at Dub Mission where he will be previewing his upcoming releases, Inna Di Lions Den and Hit The Spot, and remixes for Sizzla, Ras Zacharri and Lutan Fyah. http://www.soundcloud.com/roommatedubs http://www.kingdubbist.com http://www.avocaudio.com DJ Beset (pronounced 'Buh-Set') is a Northern Bay Area-based DJ/Producer who has remained a staple in his local music scene for the past 10+ years.
