Twin Cities 24
Twin Cities 24 is a festival in which performers must write, direct and perform an original play all within 24 hours!

In the 24 hours prior to the performance, a creative hurricane will be swirling around The Southern Theatre.   The night before, ensembles were given a location and theme from which they must create an original 10-15 minute play.  Their playwrights work through the night to create the text, incorporating several "curveballs" into their piece.  The directors and actors take over in the morning and they have the day to rehearse, memorize, and tech their show.

Its creativity condensed!   After the 24 hour period, these ambitious ensembles present to you their brand new work onstage.  Its exciting, fresh, and striking - This 24 hour festival takes the best instincts of their participants and focuses them towards a simple goal: make. Make something, anything, but make it in the next twenty-four hours and be ready to share it.   We can't tell you if you'll see a comedy and laugh until you cry or if you'll stumble upon a drama and just cry.  That's part of the magic of TC24.

Now, dear audience, you have a part in this too:  You get to vote on your favorite after you've seen all the new plays!  Yes, yes... We know. Theatre isn't a competitive sport and all art is subjective.  But we're kind of ignoring that and awarding a TC24 Audience Choice Award and a $300 cash prize to the audience favorite.

Who's making this beautiful art?
