Freedom Summer film screening
Film Screening: Freedom Summer, directed by Stanley Nelson Saturday, February 1, 2 4 pm Warner Bros. Theater National Museum of American History A special preview screening of the new documentary by Stanley Nelson, Freedom Summer, which will be broadcast nationally on PBS's acclaimed American Experience series in June 2014. Freedom Summer recounts the 1964 civil rights mobilization seeking to assert voting rights and improve substandard education for blacks in Mississippi. A discussion with Freedom Summer veterans follows.
