Speakers: Jan Hasselman is a staff attorney with Earthjustice's Northwest office in Seattle, which he first joined in 1998. Since that time, he has successfully litigated a number of regional and national issues including listings of salmon under the Endangered Species Act, stormwater pollution, coal fired power plants, and forestry. He is currently fighting coal export terminals in the Pacific Northwest.
Mike Elliott is the Washington State Legislative Spokesman for the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers & Trainmen. A veteran of the Armed Forces, Mike also served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He has twenty years of experience in the railroad industry and has held several offices within the BLET union including Division Legislative Representative, Division Vice President, and Division President. During his time with BLET, Mike's work has mostly been focused in the areas of safety, workplace health and sanitation, education, and state legislative affairs.
