Two evenings of Deborah Hay Solo Adaptations
These Deborah Hay Solo Adaptations are a product of the Solo Performance Commissioning Project, in which dancers commission a piece of choreography by Deborah Hay. This program features the solo "Dynamic" (2012) performed by Aura Fischbeck and Gry Bech-Hanssen, the solo "I Think Not"(2011)performed by Manfred Fischbeck and the solo "Art And Life"(2010), performed by Megan Nicely (Friday only) and Ronja Ver. Each performance will be followed by a brief Q&A. The Solo Performance Commissioning Project brings 20 dancers together in the remote location of Findhorn, Scotland, over the course of 11 days, to learn and be coached in the performance of a solo choreographed by Ms. Hay. They then commit, with a contractual agreement, to a daily practice of the solo for a period of at least 3 months after the completion of the residency. Ultimately the solo is adapted by each performer through this period of daily practice.
