The Iraqi Book
Tickets are still available at the door until show time. Only online sales have ended.
Who: The Iraqi Book, a solo performance by Iraqi War Veteran Jason Sagebiel. Jason will perform: two string quartets, two Iraqi songs and a solo oud performance.
What: Through music, Jason Sagebiel will be recounting his inspirational story of serving in Iraq as a Marine Corp., scout sniper. While in Iraq, Jason befriended Iraqi musicians to study music and learned how to play the oud. During his assignment, he also sustained a brain injury that left him temporarily debilitated. Upon his return home, Jason leveraged his talent to rehabilitate himself through music therapy and today helps others discover the wonderful world of music.
Jason is the founder of the Long Island City-based Sage Music. He is also the conductor of the NYC Guitar Orchestra and often performs around New York City and with folk band Mappa Mundi. For more information, please visit www.sagemusic.co
