EDAM Presents
Lebenslangershicksalsschatz, created by Antonio Somera Jr and collaborators, Hayley Gawthrop and Sophia Wolfe, explores the nonsensical ways we connect with one another. Whether it be through tenderness, aggression or absurdity, we reminisce and strive for some form of connection with another human to feel good.
EDAMs Artistic Director, Peter Bingham builds on previous iterations of his directed ensemble improvisations with Plexi Delerium. Performed by Delia Brett, Anne Cooper, Arash Khakpour, Walter Kubanek, Alex Mah, Diego Romero, and Olivia Shaffer.
______ carrier , by Benjamin Kamino made with Lee Su-Feh, Alexa Mardon, and Zahra Shahab; performed by Alexa Mardon and Zahra Shahab
This is about effort, force, and hope. It is a first draft of a work staging the collision of two distinct studio practices Kamino has been busy with since 2016; chute, a choreographic sculpture will hold, listen-to, and carry the intimate and whispered dance between Mardon and Shahab (itself an extension of a site-responsive dance practice Kamino calls carry). This work connects deeply to Kaminos research with artist and psychoanalyst Bracha L. Ettinger, most notably her concepts of the matrixial borderspace, carriance, and self-fragilization. This work is dedicated to Mary Sue Andersen-Ader and to, what Kamino perceives to be, the work that remains after you are gone.
