More Than Honey
One-third of all the food we eat exists as a result of honeybee pollination. Over the past 15 years, numerous colonies of bees have been decimated throughout the world, but the causes of this disaster remain unknown. Scientists have found a name for the phenomenon that matches its scale--"colony collapse disorder." Apis mellifera (the honey bee), which appeared on Earth 60 million years before man, is as indispensable to the economy as it is to man's survival.
Markus Imhoof's film "More Than Honey" examines the relationship between humans and bees while seeking to advance conversation about the significance of understanding where our food comes from and our responsibility to our environment.
Please join us for an evening of discussion, education, and a uniquely crafted, pollination-inspired 4-course menu as we explore causes, impacts, and solutions.
