The Woman in Black produced by Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble
Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble (SATE) is proud to present their next production in its Season of the Monster, The Woman in Black, adapted by Stephen Mallatrat, based on the book by Susan Hill. Performances are October 30-November 9, Wednesdays-Saturdays, at The Chapel, 6238 Alexander Drive. Just in time for the Halloween season, The Woman in Black is a classic of the ghost story genre; a play within a play recreated on a dark and stormy night. A lawyer hires an actor to tutor him in recounting events that transpired when he attended the funeral of an elderly recluse. There he caught sight of the woman in black, the mere mention of whom terrifies the locals, for she is a specter who haunts the neighborhood.
Tickets are $20 per person or $15 tickets for seniors, students and artists. SATE's production of The Woman is Black is made possible by funding from the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission.
