Southern California Conference Lay Organization 65th Annual Lay Extravaganza and Silent Auction
Annual fundraising event featuring a deluxe buffet, giveaways, silent auction and wonderful entertainment by Judith Malone and Freelance. The band Freelance - Jerrell Ballard on drums, Ron Battle on bass, Don "THE 1" Bell on saxophones, and Norman Weatherly on piano - have made significant contributions to the world of music.
Members of the band have played with artist such as the Coasters, Drifters, the Platters, Solomon Burke, Bobby Blue Bland, Tyrone Davis, Jimmy McCracklin, the Intruders, Peggy Scott Adams, Johnnie Taylor, Ike Turner, Rose Royce, Joe Sample, Less McCann, The Gap Band, Steely Dan Tribute Band & Solomon Burke , Buddy Miles, Luther Ingram, Lucky Peterson/Battle, the Temptations, the Marvelettes, the Floaters, Linda Hopkins and the DeFranco Family.
