Talk about an innovative disruptor of his time! French composer Antoine Brumel (c. 14601513) broke with all convention in choral music with his colossal Earthquake Mass, a rare and astounding choral composition for 12 distinct voices.
The arts critic at The Independent called this brilliant music One of the most breathtaking outbursts of the Renaissance imagination. Four other choral works will be performed to complement this masterpiece.
We celebrate vibrant music of the Renaissance through the power and beauty of the harmonic possibilities of the human voice. Make that 40 voices joined in song.
Special guest artist Ann Marie Morgan, viola da gamba.
