Edge Theatre presents Nijinsky's Last Dance, winner of the Helen Hayes Award as Best New Play. The worlds greatest dancer creates modern ballet, takes Paris by storm, achieves international fame, goes mad at 30, but lives another 30 years.
Starring Darnea Steven Olson, portraying nine characters: Vaslav Nijinsky at various ages, the impresario Sergei Diaghilev, the sculptor Auguste Rodin, a Russian ballet instructor, Nijinsky's sister Bronia, his wife Romola, the ballerina Tamara Karsavina, a Parisian cocotte, and a Gypsy child. Directed by Edge Artistic Director Jim Tommaney.
Reviews: "Holds such sway and power over the audience that you feel you are basking in the heart and soul of Nijinsky. In less than 90 minutes, you not only forget yourself, you leave yourself."
