We invite you to join us on Thursday, September 12, for a fundraiser to help us actualize our vision of creating a warm, active, inventive and purposeful art space and workshop. The winter is not so kind to our large, wide gallery and last year the REVERSE team made it through the cold by using space heaters. However, this year we hope to be better prepared. This fundraiser will help offset costs of installing a heating system so that we can continue to use our space on Frost Street and work towards a warmer winter.
The event will be three tiered; a donation of $120 will include an intimate dinner with the REVERSE family from 7-9 PM, a digital image by one of our artists, a REVERSE tote bag, access to the open bar, music and rights to bid in the silent art auction. A donation of $50 will include the digital image, tote bag, access to the open bar, music and rights to big in the silent art auction. A donation of $25 will include access to the open bar, music and rights to big in the silent art auction. The silent art auction will include works generously donated to the fundraiser by the REVERSE artist community as well as friends of REVERSE. Music will include a performance by Elliott Sharp, who exhibited at the gallery this past May, musical guest Ancient History as well as a guest DJ. Your purchase of a ticket at any level will support REVERSE and help us continue to present programs that encourage new and emerging artists, curators, and creative individuals.
REVERSE first opened its doors last summer as a gallery with big aspirations to make an impact in Brooklyn and to become a site for artistic collaboration, discussion and growth. As an artist-run organization, REVERSE aims to support the production and presentation of new work by emerging and mid-career artists through a full schedule of exhibitions, workshops, talks and events that encourages public dialogue and the thoughtful exchange of ideas across all fields. A year in and REVERSE has burgeoned into a project-based exhibition space and laboratory for multidisciplinary and experimental artwork created by innovative, boundary-breaking individuals. It is without a doubt only through the love and support of the artists and creative, community-focused people around us that we have made it thus far. As we move into our second year the REVERSE team is working hard to make the space better by improving our public programs and crafting exhibitions and events that engage and excite the neighborhood around the gallery.
