California Cheese and Beverage Pairings
With so many celebrated artisan cheeses crafted next door to some of the country's best wines and beers, it can sometimes be overwhelming to figure out what to pair with what. Using the Shed's local wines, beers and mead, author Kirstin Jackson will help you sort through the basics of cheese and beverage pairing in this hands-on tasting. After leaving this class, you'll have the tools to work through our delicious abundance- one cheese and beverage at a time. Followed by a book signing.
Kirstin Jackson, author of "It's Not You, it's Brie: Unwrapping America's Unique Culture of Cheese" is a cheese and wine writer, consultant, educator, professionally trained cook, wine bar manager and cheese program director, whose fridge and head is almost entirely consumed with cheese. She blames her parents, who took her on trips to the California dairy country at a very young age, for feeding the obsession, and duly thanks them for bringing her back pounds of Joe Matos St. George cheese when she's unable to accompany them on current trips.
