Goteri Creative Arts Presents: My Friend Freud & Fortunate Faces
Spend an evening with the creative minds of Michael Fish and Phil Elam as they share their unique and sometimes hilarious perspective on life through personal stories and unique characters. Their work has received rave reviews and has been performed by invitation in Chicagos McKay Theatre.
In My Friend Freud MIchael Fish channels a comical Sigmund Freud to help analyze a series of unconventional dream sequences.
Fish, an attorney, back country explorer and high elevation mountaineer has appeared in multiple local comedic and improv productions. Trained by Second City instructors. His inspirational roots include Spike Milligan, Buster Keaton and Phyllis Diller. Michael Fish currently studies at Goteri Creative Arts.
Fortunate Faces brings an original collection of 5 diverse characters (Clarence, Trudy Topanga, Blaine Zacharius, Alexander Inglebot, Walter Matomboo) brought to life by Phil Elam while training under the guidance of Second City instructors and Goteri Creative Arts.
Elams other works include the multiple award winning film, SWING LOW; directed by Marvin Towns, Jr. Winner of 12 awards. Phil also portrayed the role of Homer Smith made famous by Academy Award Winner Sir Sidney Poitier in the stage production of Lilies Of The Fields.
In addition to appearing at #1 on several Spotify Pop, Hip-Hop, EDM and TheFreshTen Playlists, Phil Elam has opened on concert stages for the likes of Nelly and Village People. Phil points to Sidney Poitier, Flip (Geraldine Jones) Wilson, Jamie Foxx and Blanche Devereaux. as people from whom he draws inspiration.
