A Conversation with Seth Green, Robot Chicken and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios
Stoopid Buddy Stoodios is a state of the art animation production house founded in 2012 by Stoopid Monkey Production's Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, and Buddy Systems' John Harvatine IV and Eric Towner. The first production under the new company's banner was the Robot Chicken/DC Comics Special followed by Season 6 of Adult Swim's top-rated, Emmy and Annie Award-winning series Robot Chicken.
As the largest studio in California specializing in stop-motion animation, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios pushes traditional forms of animation to their greatest potential and beyond. Their patented "Stop-Live Animation" technique allows them to combine stop-motion animated characters and documentary style live-action footage in a way that has not been seen before. The work done in the studio covers the animation gamut, ranging from found, household object-style stop-motions all the way to high-end feature quality productions.
Other projects include College Humor's Dinosaur Office, stop-motion animated segments of Spy vs. Spy for MAD from Warner Bros. Animation for Cartoon Network, YouTube's Stoopid Monkey channel and the upcoming 7th season of Robot Chicken, Adult Swim Übermansion with Bryan Cranston, pilots at Disney XD and Adult Swim, a feature project at Sony Pictures Animation, and a second Robot Chicken/DC Comics Special. Up next, Green, Senreich, Towner and Harv will executive produce Friendship All-Stars a web-series for L/Studio that will premiere July 24th.
