New to this? Welcome aboard! Human Combat Chess is a recurring show featuring different matches in a fictional sports league playing the sport of Human Combat Chess. Each team fields 16 players of all shapes and sizes that are assigned positions identical to those in the classic game of Chess, who are then ordered to move by their respective Kings. The similarities to Chess begin to unravel when a player moves into a piece occupied by another, as they now fight over the square! This choreographed fight can end with either piece as the victor, holding the square.
To bring you the most entertaining fights possible, we've assembled the best team of fight directors in the Twin Cities area. While some of our actors are taking the board for their first time, we give them ample rehearsal time to make sure each fight is a unique, exciting experience for the audience. This gives the audience the adrenaline rush of MMA with the reassurance that the fighters will come out of it safely.
Human Combat Chess combines the drama of theatre with the edge of your seat thrill of sports, and there's something for everyone. The event is family friendly. If you would take your kids to a hockey game, you should bring them along to Human Combat Chess!
