WIND IN A MIRROR...AYAHUASCA VISIONS
WIND IN A MIRROR...AYAHUASCA VISIONS by Josie Hyde is a boldly original multimedia solo show, a play of irony and paradox about death, guilt and transcendence. The story is a search for enlightenment climaxing in the Amazon in a ceremony with ayahuasca, the visionary Vine of Death. The performance is accompanied by a surreal art video with the music of Tom Lackner and Amazon shamans Don Agustin Rivas Vasquez and Don Jose Campos.
WIND IN A MIRROR...AYAHUASCA VISIONS premiered at the Marsh in San Francisco to a sold-out theater and Josie received a standing ovation. "Riveting, still speechless the next day!" Klein Films "A magical mystery tour!" Casa Magazine "A female Spalding Gray!" The Independent
Josie has won first place in poetry slams in San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Chicago, New York, Costa Rica and Berlin and performed her poetry in festivals and clubs in North America, Central America and Europe. Twice she received "The Honor Award for Lyrics" in The Great American Song Contest. Spalding Gray was her good friend and inspirer.
SOUNDTRACK: Drummer/percussionist Tom Lackner composes, records and produces in his studio The Tompound in Santa Barbara, Ca. and co-runs an independent label "Household Ink Records." Tom also tours with Jeff Bridges in the band "The Abiders."
VIDEO PRODUCTION: Rani DeMuth has screened her films at over 60 international film festivals, winning awards in every category of filmmaking. Her short "The Double" starring Eric Roberts received Los Angeles County Art Museum's first "Art of Film Award."
