SPUNK, a Gold Rush Adventure - Stageplay by the SF BUFFOONS
SPUNK is a stage play by the SF BUFFOONS about the 1849 Gold Rush, when the population of the remote village of San Francisco exploded from a few hundred to thirty thousand men. Because of the distance and difficulty of travel, that number included almost no women. Now in their tenth year of presenting theatre in San Francisco, the all male cast of the SF BUFFOONS utilize a hybrid buffoon technique codified from years of street shows melded with commedia, mummer and misrule parades to stage an outlandish Gold Rush San Francisco never re-created until now, rife with drama, debauch, violence, cross dressing, and skin.
