Destiny's Bridge Film Premiere
FILM SYNOPSIS - Destiny's Bridge is a character driven documentary about a homeless minister who stands up to a New Jersey town that is evicting him, along with 80 other people living in the woods. Tensions flare when police raid the wooded area and take the minister out in handcuffs, setting off charges that the town is harassing the homeless community that they are battling in a heated court case. All bets are off when local township residents give up on the legal system and put pressure on township officials to close the controversial camp known as Tent City. With time running out on the camp's existence, the homeless set out to create a self sustained shelter called Destiny's Bridge, that provides community, ownership and rehabilitation. With their future in question, the homeless who at one time held respectable jobs, create innovative living conditions in their own makeshift shelter while awaiting the judge's decision.
THE DESTINY'S BRIDGE FILM PREMIERE IS A NON-PROFIT EVENT. All proceeds will go to the Destiny's Bridge Homeless Shelter Foundation. The film will be followed by a Q&A panel that will include filmmaker Jack Ballo, Tent City camp founder Minister Steve Brigham and several residents of the camp who are featured in the film.
