Tales of the Forgotten North: Story Walk, Tarset Moor
Storytellers Pat Renton and Chris Bostock lead a walk onto Tarset Moor.
This Story Walk will offer a taste of the Land Journey A Bit Crack Storytelling are embarking on this summer as part of Tales of the Forgotten North. These walks will be over half a day and will visit one of the archaeological sites visited during Tales of the Forgotten North's story creation. Lead by storytellers from A Bit Crack the walks will include archaeological knowledge, local history and folklore and will invite walkers to share their interpretation of the land with others.
A Bit Crack storytellers have embarked on an epic journey through Northumberland and the North Pennines, discovering Tales of the Forgotten North. Over the next two years Malcolm, Pascale, Pat and Chris will be creating stories from archaeological sites in the depths of North-East England with archaeologists Paul Frodsham and Jessica Turner.
Stories dreamt from the land will be created together with school children local to the archaeological sites. They will venture out into the wilds, seek treasure, stir their imaginations, map the ancient worlds, create artworks and their own original stories. Creating fiction from evidence given us by the rocks and stones and lumps and bumps in the ground. Making visible the invisible.
