The Joy of Cheese Presents Uptown Sunday Afternoon 2
Please join us Sunday afternoon, August 10th at 1:30 or Wednesday evening August 20th at 6:30 for the next in The Joy of Cheese introductory tastings at Nectar Wine Bar, 2235 Frederick Douglass Blvd (8th Ave). We will introduce the five old world cheeses of the Nectar Wine Bar menu, Marcel Petit Comte, Saenkanter (a four year old Dutch gouda), Piave, Ossau-Iraty, and Midnight Moon (a cheese made in Holland to the specifications of Mary Keehne, a leading American cheesemaker). In addition to those five cheeses will also present seven new European delights including work from several master agers of cheese. Each cheese will be introduced in depth, and my hope is that attendees come away with a greater appreciation of cheese and the rudiments of how to shop and discuss the incredible and vast array of superb cheese that is available to New Yorkers right now. Our cheeses will be presented in five pairs (plus at least two wild cards) and with each pair, we will serve a wine specially chosen by the management of Nectar Wine Bar to accompany cheeses.
