B8 New Works Series presents QUADRILLE
It's the return of the Butterfield 8 New Works Series! This showcase will present staged readings of new works by local playwrights, and has featured several plays which have gone on to receive full productions.
WEEK 5 - QUADRILLE
Ingredients:
1 Self-Sufficient Woman Baker
1 Nobleman in need of a Cook
1 Sweet Young Lady
1 Dashing Hero
Preheat the year 1835. Mix the Baker and the Nobleman together until romance blossoms. For a little confusion, gently add the Sweet Young Lady into the mix. Sprinkle in a pinch of frustrated love, and then add a dash of Hero rushing in to save the day. Bake at 350 degrees for the length of one duel, or until ready to admit the truth. Serves them all right.
Quadrille is a delicious tale featuring romance, secret plots, good food, more secret plots, bad food, heroic duels, and plenty of perfectly prepared corn muffins. Bon appetite!
