Death of a Salesman
"Ever since it was first performed in 1949, Death of a Salesman has been recognized as a milestone of the American theater. --- a play that compresses epic extreme of humor and anguish, promise and loss, between the four walls of an American living room."
"By common consent, this is one of the finest dramas in the whole range of the American theater." The New York Times Willy Loman, an aging, failed salesman with more dreams than any life could realize, returns home exhausted after a cancelled business trip. Willy and Linda's sons, Biff, a high school dropout who has yet to make good on his life, and Happy, not much more successful, come home to visit. Willy's mental degeneration becomes obvious by his repetitious conversation and flashbacks to previous events in his life. The air is thick with tension. Something happened between Willy and his son Biff years ago on a sales trip in Boston, which changed Biff's view of the man he loved, and set the son adrift until now. Willy and his patient wife Linda and the two sons embark on a set of events involving Willy's boss, neighbors, lawyers, several women of questionable repute, all meant to right old wrongs and forgive past sins.
