Shogo Ota of Tireman Studios shows samples of his fabulous music posters before leading us in making our own posters. Shogo is bringing one of his posters for a door prize.
We'll have art supplies, but feel free to bring non-messy supplies of your own. Old magazines welcome. We will use various dry art media: paper, sharpies, crayons, pencils, collage to make a poster for your favorite music band.

Although Shogo hails from Japan, he has called the Pacific Northwest home for more than a decade. Shogo graduated with a BFA from the University of Idaho, which landed him an internship at Modern Dog.
For over five years Shogo whittled out ideas in five sketchbooks, helping Modern Dog with clients such as Seattle Aquarium, Blue Q, Live Nation, and Chronicle Books.
His faith in the sketchbook was also responsible for securing him a spot in Graphic: Inside the Sketchbooks of the World's Great Graphic Designers by Steven Heller and Lita Talarico.
His work has been featured in Communication Arts, The Stranger and The New York Times.
He teaches at the School of Visual Concepts and Makerhaus.
