Michael Imber: Ranches, Villas and Houses

Come spend Friday and Saturday at beautiful Alys Beach and hear Michael G. Imber discuss his new book Ranches, Houses & Villas The Architect and Our Cultural Landscape, attend a Reception and bood signing by Caliza Pool and on Saturday, enjoy a private guided tour by Michael of Gulfside House and attend a private reception following the tour.

Michael will discuss his new book Ranches, Houses, and Villas and the influences of local culture and the landscape in the shaping of his work and practice. Michael explores the relationship of the architect with the landscape through sketching and painting, and the importance of recognizing unique local environments, cultures and building traditions in the creation of a meaningful and sustainable architecture. Follow Michael down the dusty roads of Texas and the Southwest to view works from the book, as well others built in unique and challenging locations, including three recent Palladio Award winning projects.
