Eric Lee and Friends 2013 Kawahilani West Coast Tour - Alameda, CA!
Join us for an evening of great Hawaiian music on Saturday, June 29 at 6:30pm from two-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winner Eric Lee as he celebrates the Bay Area stop on his 2013 Kawehilani West Coast Tour at the historic Michaan Auction House Theater in Alameda, CA. Special guests include Steven Espaniola, Kumu Meleana Manuel and the dancers of Ke ʻOlu Makani O Mauna Loa!
Celebrating his twentieth year in the Hawaiian Music industry, Eric is a two-time Nā Hōkū Hanohano award-winner, widely known for his intricate guitar playing, soulful vocals, and creative arrangements.
Over the years, Eric has released seventeen albums, appeared on more than thirty recordings, and shared the stage with some great names in Hawaiian music, including Hapa, Hoʻokena, and the Mākaha Sons. His music embraces the diverse influences rock, country, pop, jazz, and blues music have had on him, while at the same time remaining absolutely true to his traditional Hawaiian roots. Eric tours regularly in Hawaiʻi, Japan, and the Mainland United States, and is very excited to be joined on this tour by his bassist Rodney Bejer and drummer Eric Folk. Raised in Aliamanu, Hawai'i and now residing in the California Bay Area, Steven Espaniola is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in kī hōʻalu (Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar), 'Ukulele, Upright Bass, and Leo Kiʻekiʻe (Traditional Hawaiian falsetto). Through the years, Steven has had the pleasure of performing alongside some of Hawaiʻi's top entertainers including Nathan Aweau, The Brothers Cazimero, Amy Gilliom and Ledward Kaʻapana. In 2007, Steven's debut solo album Hoʻomaka earned him the recognition of "New Artist of the Year" at the Hawaii Music Awards. Steven's follow-up album Hoʻomaopopo will be released this June! Special hula performances will be provided by Kumu Hula Meleana Manuel and the dancers of Ke 'Olu Makani O MaunaLoa, from Volcano, HI. A Polynesian dance group with branches in Volcano, HI, and throughout Japan.
