HoopLA is a new kind of variety show that fuses story, song and spectacle into the most curious and entertaining evening of your month. HoopLA reaches across genres and across Los Angeles to bring you a cultural tumbler of writers and performers to parse and riff on the themes of our times, one topic at a time.
Acclaimed literary and cultural arts magazine The Los Angeles Review of Books and Los Angeles writer/performer Erika Schickel have teamed up to draw from a deep well of local talent. HoopLA brings together writers, comedians, singers and show people of every stripe to create a modern day, literary vaudeville.
Hosted by writer/ranconteur Erika Schickel, HoopLA is in residency at the legendary Club Fais Do Do from 6-8pm on the second Saturday of every month.
Erika Schickel is an author, journalist, book critic, copywriter, essayist, educator, actress and performance artist who lives and works in Los Angeles.
