The Joy of Cheese Presents Classic French Cheese v. Le Nouveau Fromage
Almost everybody knows that Americans make better cheese than we used to, but cheesemaking has improved dramatically in Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland and England too. But what about France? How has the cheesemaking revolution affected the country best known for cheese? Join us at 10 Degrees, 121 St. Mark's Place, July 29, 31 and August 5 for a comparative tasting of French classics and affineur aged new French cheeses. We will sample 12 or so cheeses overall. There will be dark chocolate, fruit, and two mystery cheeses as well. The cost covers the cheese tasting; 10 Degrees is a convivial wine and high end spirits bar in the East Village and the tasting takes place in the salon room in the back of the bar duirng 2-4-1 happy hour. Our tastings begin just after 7 and typically conclude around 8:30.
