Positive feedback from more than 2,000 house music enthusiasts in Miami, New York, Baltimore and Boston who in 2012 screened "Hands to the Sky," a documentary exploring outdoor house music dance parties, inspired the producers to show fans even more love with a new cut of the film. As My House Rocs prepares to take "Hands to the Sky" to college campuses and festivals across the country, they will host a benefit screening of the new cut to help cover costs of exposing the film to new audiences on Saturday, April 13 at Indiescreen, 289 Kent Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.
With showtimes at 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, there will be an after-party featuring RootsNYC DJ Kevin Hedge, whose weekly show on WBLS-FM show and long-running party at legendary Club Cielo has set the standard for classic house music in New York City as well as DJ Kervyn Mark (Melting Pot Global) known for his long tenure over at the Coney Island Boardwalk music series of events. Just added to the line-up is the one and only great voices in the soulful house genre, Darryl D'Bonneau!
