Jason Jenn and Ian MacKinnon present GAY MAY DAYS, a wild 3-day weekend of performances, workshops, special events, and nightly maypole dances. Members of LA's queer creative community celebrate aspects of Beltane, Social Justice, and the Eros of Springtime through a gay lens. Donation bar, free green tea!

FRIDAY NIGHT (8:30pm-11:30pm): HOMO HEROES, a red hot evening of performances focused on honoring and presenting historical gay greats with special excerpts from Ian MacKinnon's Gay Hist-Orgy, and performances by: Broadway Playwright Robert Patrick, Jean Natalia, Monica Howe, Jose Promis, Gordon Vandenberg, Doug Hammett, Neil Eliot, Hank Henderson, Luke Johnson, Brian DeShazor, Coral Lobera, Gregory Barnett, Jason Jenn, and more!
Followed by a may pole dance, movies, and mixer.
SATURDAY:
*SATURDAY AFTERNOON SESSION (Noon-7pm): Warm up with A Gay Activist Workout, the reading and sharing of Gay Love Letters, get activated with the creation of Get More Gay Manifestos, followed by Host Hank Henderson's Homo-Centric Historical Poetry Jam, & Live music before the evenings Feature program
*SATYRDAY NIGHT FEATURE(8:30pm-11pm): GAY NATURE, a wild pagan frolic of performances centered around gay essence in relationship to the planet, nature, and our identities. Performers will include: Travis Wood, Clint Steinhauser, Leopold Nunan, Martin Martinez, David LeBarron, Andrew Henkes, Gregory Barnett, The Miracle Whips, Odious and Puddles, Dan Poirier, Ian MacKinnon, Jason Jenn, and more!
Followed by a may pole dance, movies, and mixer.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: SEXY CINCO DE MAYO - We start off the afternoon with some Kundalini yoga, stretching and blissing out your sinful regions, followed by an indulgence of sublime and sexy Sufi Poetry and other scintillating spiritual practices to juice up your Sunday. Then create your own erotic awakening in a Get More Gay Workshop designed to create some deliciously juicy performances. We'll have a glitter make-up station to color your palette and party down while participating in sharing of our Secret Gifts and Talents Show open mic, climaxing in the final festive May Pole dance.
Sunday's suggested donation at the door is $10-$15 or pay whatever you can. All Sunday proceeds go to The Lavender Effect, a not for profit The Lavender Effect (www.thelavendereffect.org), a nonprofit Foundation committed to creating a state-of-the-art LGBTQ Museum and Cultural Center in Los Angeles. Additionally there will be a silent art auction benefiting The Lavender Effect all weekend long.
