Benefit House Concert for Kidsave!
Join us for an incredible evening of music - and help children find adoptive families - with Laura Baron, Jon Nazdin, and Mark Carson. Doors open at 6, music starts at 7.
Laura Baron is an extraordinary singer songwriter, contemporary folk artist and jazz diva all rolled into one! She is the recipient of three Gold Awards from the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. The title track of Laura's new album "Heart of The Great Unknown" was written for her little girl Ruchi, 7, who was adopted from an orphanage in New Delhi in Oct 2011. Laura is honored to support Kidsave in its mission to connect children with loving adoptive families. Jon Nazdin, a master upright bass player, has accompanied top jazz and contemporary folk artists across the mid Atlantic region. Jon is well known for his smooth rhythms, intricate jazz riffs and sensitive bass lines.
Mark Carson is an accomplished percussionist, performer and educator in the Washington, DC area He has played with the National Symphony and the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, and many well known artists including Diane Schur, Kenny Rankin, and Chaka Kahn.
Kidsave is a nonprofit organization working to give older orphans families and lasting mentoring relationships. Every summer Kidsave brings children from Colombia to the United States for a summer vacation and hopefully find adoptive families. We are raising money to help about 10 children come to the Washington, DC area this summer.
