The Wild Party by Andrew Lippa
Sound Theatre Company presents the Seattle premiere of The Wild Party, the darkly brilliant musical by Andrew Lippa inspired by Joseph Moncure March's banned poem about the excesses of the Jazz Age. A group of burlesque performers join together for a wild, erotic evening in the Manhattan apartment of vaudevillians Queenie and Burrs, when a newcomer complicates their strained relationship and challenges their decadent and thrill-seeking high living. For all who enjoy Rent or Chicago , this dark descent into erotic excess is a must-see.
For mature audiences: contains very adult situations. "Conveys a sense of the decadent side of New York of the 1920s better than anything I can recall since F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby." - Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun-Times
