DELIVERY The Henry "Box" Brown Show
In 1849, one man's quest for freedom was heralded as one of the greatest escapes of the Underground Railroad. Henry "Box" Brown became an iconic figure of the Abolition Movement after a near- death journey landed him in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then England where he stayed for 25 years. There, Henry continued to free and reinvent himself, from a fugitive slave to an accomplished lecturer and magician. Brown and his new wife return to the United States in 1875, only to find that his final quest for freedom may require more than mere magic; it may cost him everything! A stage play based in part on the true accounts of Henry "Box" Brown.
Experience the Man, the Myth, the Magic, the History and Mystery of Delivery: the Henry "Box" Brown Show! Written and produced by Rory Rennick
