Friday, Nov 9, 7 PM Eight Strings & a Whistle, thats the viola plus a cello and then a flute of this NYC based ensemble that explores four centuries of music for three players. This rare combination of instruments creates unique and entertaining colors in old and new repertory.
Suzanne Gilchrest, flute, teaches at the Department of Music and Performing Arts at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at New York University and at SummerKeys in Lubec, Maine. Ina Litera, viola, teaches at the Borough of Manhattan Community College/CUNY and is on faculty at the Third Street Music School Settlement in New York City. Matt Goeke, cello, teaches at the Borough of Manhattan Community College/CUNY, and Is a chamber music coach for the New York Youth Symphony.
405 Shrader is San Francisco intimate concert hall in the Haight (44 seats). These aperitif concerts are are just under one hour in length. A glass of wine is offered, and following the concert you may wish to greet the artist(s).
