Mulberry Concerts: "The Rest of the Piece"
Kenneth Grigg, piano, performs a spectacular concert in an intimate setting. Mr. Grigg's unusual style emphasizes fluid virtuosity, beauty and variety of tone, and the aesthetic and emotional response of each listener in his audience.
Have you ever heard a piece of music--such as Clair de Lune--familiar to the point of universality, and wondered what its context might be? "The Rest Of The Piece" explores entire works known mainly through their one famous section or movement; the surprise is that in every case the entire work is as good as the "famous" part.
Sunday, September 23, 2018, 7:15 PM: "The Rest of the Piece"
- Beethoven, Sonata in C-sharp minor, Opus 27, no. 2
- Chopin, Impromptus
- Debussy, Suite bergamasque
- Gershwin, Preludes
- Rachmaninov, Five Pieces, Opus 3
All Mulberry Concerts are limited-seating events in our gracious Prairie Style home. Tickets include a post-concert wine and dessert reception.
