An Exercise for Everyone
Come check out different types of exercise and activities without having to go to a bunch of gyms or training centers. We have gathered some of the premiere fitness businesses in the Northwest to help you find the type of activity that will best fit your fitness needs.
Each participating business offers discounts of 25% to 50% off an introductory session so you can try their type of exercise, as well as get a chance to ask questions and find out from an expert if their activity is a good fit for you.
Several of the businesses have generously donated door prizes you can win at the event. You must be present to win a door prize.
OmTown Yoga has donated two packs of six lessons for beginngers. (108.00 per lesson pack)
MKG Martial Arts International has donated: 1. 2 week On Ramp for CrossFit (147.00 retail value) 2. 30 days free of Martial Arts Classes for either Kids or Adults (up to 257.00 value) 3. 30 days free fitness classes + health & fitness evaluation plus Gloves (up to $157)
GrayStone Stables has donated one introductory horseback riding lesson ($50.00 for a one-hour private lesson)
We will feature speakers and demonstrations for activities such as weight lifting, mountain climbing, and Zumba. Our speaker on mountain climbing will talk about summiting Mt Rainier at age 70! Our weight lifting demonstration will feature a woman over age 60 who can dead lift over 260 pounds. We will also have a Naturopathic physician speaking on how diet relates to your health and fitness goals, as well as a speaker on the fun you can have with fitness through dance. More speakers and demonstrators will be added as we get closer to the event, so this is just a small sample of what you can explore. It's a great way to find the exercise that fits your lifestyle in a welcoming, non-threatening environment.
An Exercise for Everyone is the launch event for Mentoring Movement, a community committed to helping people break down the barriers preventing them from an active lifestyle. Mentoring Movement provides the public with access to mentors from various professions within the exercise and fitness community, and sets up support structures to help keep them moving.
An Exercise for Everyone is also presented by Any Shape or Form. Any Shape or Form creates a space to cultivate awareness about the limiting effect of body image issues, to help people give themselves permission to love the body that they're in, to encourage people to explore who they are and what they like - in ANY SHAPE OR FORM.
This is a not-for-profit event. All proceeds from An Exercise for Everyone will be donated to the Special Olympics.
