ABOUT THE PERFORMER: Acclaimed by the New York Times for her "meditative" playing, pianist Katie Reimer is the Executive and Artistic Director of the Mimesis Ensemble, which she founded in 2008. She was engaged by the Sono Luminus label in 2011 to curate and perform on a disc featuring the chamber music of Mohammed Fairouz, which was nominated for a Grammy award in the category of Classical Producer of the Year. She also was the Artistic Director for a 2012 release on Bridge Records of Mohammed Fairouz's opera, Sumeida's Song, alongside Grammy award winning producer David Starobin, and Scott Dunn, Associate Conductor of the LA Philharmonic's Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Reimer has broad interests as both a soloist and collaborative musician, and has performed in venues such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Miller Theatre at Columbia University, Symphony Space, Le Poisson Rouge, and Klavierhaus.
