The 10th anniversary of the African American Film Festival is a time to celebrate the achievements this compelling and engaging festival.
Closing night brings us Robert Townsend's latest independent film, In the Hive. Mr. Townsend will also be in attendance during this showing. 6PM reception in the Grand Hall. 7PM screening.
(USA, 2012) 90 minutes Actor Director Robert Townsend will join us for Closing Night to discuss his provocative and powerful film, IN THE HIVE. This drama is based on the true story of a unique school in North Carolina called The Hive that was the last stop for a group of 'throwaway' boys. The film stars Michael Clarke Duncan in one of his final films,and Loretta Divine delivers a spot on performance as the school's courageous administrator, Miss Inez. The film also features Vivica A. Fox, Roger Guenveur Smith and newcomer Jonathan McDaniel.
