Apostle of Freedom-The Life and Legacy of Richard Allen
Accomplished actor, voice actor and singer-songwriter Leonard Dozier stars in this powerfu, self-pennedl one-man show about the life of AME founder Richard Allen, who in addition to founding the church, became the first black minister ordained in the US, published the first piece of African-American literature and became central to the Underground Railroad movement. Dozier starred as Allen in the landmark docudrama "Apostle of Freedom" about his life produced by the AME church in 2011 and then again in the EMMY-winning Fever:1793 in 2012. The show will be followed by the film showing of the same name and will include a talk back discussion with a photo session following the show.
